Established in 1964 United Optical has 16 retail optical stores, located in Maryland and District of Columbia.  United Optical offers a large selection of fashionable frames, popular brands and types of contact lenses, and the latest in lens treatments.

United Optical is operated by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company, a UnitedHealth Group business that has provided vision benefits for clients since 1964. United Optical utilizes OptumHealth Vision Laboratory, a state-of-the-art eyeglass fabrication laboratory, to produce their prescriptions.
